A very common and very effective yet would take some skill to be more efficient way is to do a combination of nit combing and bug squashing. It is actually very simple, you only have to get a piece of white sheet of paper and then let the head face the paper preferably in a cast down manner. You have two options after brushing: to kill the lice by squashing them using your nails or to simply throw them away (or if you really hate them then burn them).

They also use a masking tape to put the lice and nits on so they can easily throw it away afterwards. Although, this method isn’t really recommended due to the time that it requires.
Bedding is something you have to constantly clean too whenever you want lice to be completely eradicated from your household or at least from one person. The bedding that the person who has lice should be regularly cleaned, preferably through a hot wash, for the reason that it can simply live on the bedding and wait for another victim for it to live in. If hot wash isn’t advisable for the type of bedding, a thorough and efficient vacuum should take place. You can also do this to your upholstery both in the house and in the car.
